I'll fly away

Sitting in an airport and trying to be indiscreet about taking a pic is close to impossible. I can't think of the last time I flew and it wasn't bright early in the morning or super late at night. It's strange to see the shops all open and there is even a guy playing the violin for us all...kinda soothing before we prepare to board and fly up high in the sky. Can't wait to get out of this cold NW weather and enjoy some sunshine in SoCal. Get to see some lifelong friends and celebrate one of their weddings. Woot woot!

reach for the sun

You really need to listen to and watch this song, it will wash the case of the Mondays away!

Now that we're on the same page, don't you just love that that song is on Scrubs?  Although this group really does dress like that, the jury is still out discussing their style. Also wanted to let you know, I will be hiring someone to come and throw random balloons at me as I lip sync to this song running through the meadow. Please email me your resume.

Now seriously, today has been so beautiful here in the great NW. I love listening to this song on my runs. Sometimes I find myself fist pumping as I sing along...the looks I get make it all worth it.
Happy Monday!!

Caffe Coral

As I did a closet sweep one of the things I tried to take note of colors and styles that I like and could wearing soon. I pulled this beautiful coral one out of the t-shirt drawer. It was one I completely forgot about it. My lovely sister got if for me when she was visiting Singapore and I absolutely adore this shirt not only for the color, but for the content too. Not quite sure why the bear has no eyes, it there a hidden meaning here???

Right after work I had to rush home and make some apple enchiladas for potluck at my friends house, mexican theme. If you haven't had one or don't know what I'm talking about, you must google and make them right away! They are quite delicious! Essentially it's apple pie in the form of an enchilada with quite a bit more butter. My motto is 'the more butter the better'!!!

Gluteus MAXImus

Thanks to Kendi Everyday my eyes have been opened to Everybody, Everywear! It's this great blog set up to share your creations and to be inspired! I'm hooked as many other bloggers are! Here's my MAXImous re-MAXI

It's still in the 40's here, so the thought of wearing a maxi with cute sandals like I normally do was waaaaay out of the question! So as many young children do, I went for the ole' trusty cowboy boots.
After looking for awhile at these pictures, I'm quickly realizing I need to get me a good camera/camera man! All these lucky married bloggers with their wonderful husband/boyfriend/cameraman just makes me uber jealous! Oh well, my self timer on the damdroid will have to do for now until I can afford a nicer one or a man.

it's a toss up

I found these amazing shoes on Nordstroms website and decided I needed them for this spring/summer! They are the perfect color + t-strap + stacked heal + = gracie must have.
I ordered them instantly and got them last week. When I got them, I was so excited to open the box and try them on, to my surprise there was a giant glue mark on the toe. The bad thing about getting light colored shoes. I figured for $90 I gotta be the one to make those sort of marks on my shoes. I took them back and we ordered another pair. I got them today and....there was another mark on this pair, but in a different spot!! I'm  torn, should I return these and try again for a third time or just face the fact that maybe me and these adorable shoes aren't meant to be?

and it was good....

I decided to give the sewing machine another try this last weekend. So I went to the fabric store, and spent over an hour trying to decide on the perfect fabric. I felt I needed a little pick me up, so I went to the grocery store for some treats and walked out with this jar filled with the suckle of the gods. Off I went to my friends house to use her sewing machine...three hours later this is what I had.....
my very first skirt

with pockets....

Look, it's a shirt too!!

So much fun! I think I will dub Saturdays for the month of April DIY day! Now what will I do this Saturday....hmmmm???
